To mentor my project I chose Peter Larson. Peter is a 61 year old enthusiastic Pharmacist that loves everything about his job. He is currently employed by CVS Pharmacy and has been so for the past 20 years. Peter received his pHD in Pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island and is "Constantly learning and adapting to new changes every day." Peter thoroughly enjoys spending his long 10-12 hour shifts interacting and counseling patients on medication as well as writing field reports to insurance companies.
I chose Peter Larson to be my mentor of my project because of his expertise and numerous connections in the community. Due to Peter's long term employment in a local CVS, he has gained a large amount of connections, whether that be other pharmacists, insurance companies, students, or professors. These connections allow me to reach out under the supervision of Peter and ask for a personal interview about their career to help me with my project. Due to the vast amount of different connections he has, I have been able to gather 7 different Pharmacists and have a personal interview with them. Peter has also helped me formulate my questions for these interviews as well as a form letter to send to each interviewee. With his expertise I have been able to formulate questions that will help me better understand the routine of a specific Pharmacist within their environment. To conclude, without the supervision of Peter Larson my project would not have the same outcome and proficiency it does, and I am happy to say that I have made this connection with Peter.
